Covid 19 Update - Tuesday17 March 2020 (by Claire Grady (c.grady)) |
Further to the information given yesterday on gov.uk. Today's update states that;
- Children with chronic conditions like asthma, chest infections or under treatment for long-term issues including pneumonia, cystic fibrosis and/or other similar pulmonary conditions should not be in school.
- Children who have parents who have similar chronic conditions should also consult health care professionals as to whether it would be safe for their children to be in school; if you would be at risk if your child brought the virus home, then you need to seriously consider whether it is safe for your child to be in school.
If your child remains fit and well and neither they or anyone in the household is showing symptoms then they should attend school. We will remain open until we are instructed otherwise or unless we do not have enough staff in school to operate safely. We are having a daily staff briefing at 8.30am to make sure staff are deployed in each class. Please be patient if you are trying to contact school, pupil welfare is our main priority.
Unfortunately, all school events up until Easter have now been cancelled. This includes the pantomime and sacramental preparation. Wednesday Mass at 8.15am will still take place and we will take Y1 and Y4 to Mass on Friday, as planned. On both occasions we need to make sure we use all the available space within church.
Thank you for your continued support. May I take the opportunity to thank you also, for helping make our feast day a celebration still, with your generous gifts of buns/biscuits and sweets. We still have some goodies left and will sell again tomorrow for 50p.
