The Week Ahead 21.3.2221 March 2022 (by Claire Grady (c.grady)) |
What a busy start to the week we have had here at St.Patrick's!
We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Leeds here today - Councillor Asghar Khan. He came to officially unveil the school mosaic. We were joined by some of the Governors of the school as we enjoyed this special moment in the spring sunshine. Please see our Twitter account for photos. The Lord Mayor has invited the School Council to join him at Leeds Civic Hall in the summer term as his special guests.
Thank you for your generosity so far in Lent. We are aware that times are challenging for everyone. We raised an amazing £290 for our Ukraine appeal. Well done to all the winners of the Guess the Teddy competition last week. Easter egg raffle tickets are on sale from tomorrow - 20p each. This will be drawn on the day we break up - Friday 1st April. Catholic Care are also asking children for a small contribution for a mosaic cross that can then be coloured in and entered into a class raffle to win an Easter egg. All money raised will go to our Lenten charities - The Bishops Good Shepherd appeal and St.Gemma's.
Last call for parents evening reply slips. We will be sending home appointments at the end of the week.
First Holy Communion - A letter will be coming home to all the children in Y4 who have made their First Reconciliation inviting them to begin preparing for their First Holy Communion. We look forward to working with the Parish to support these children and their families at this special time.
Confirmation - Canon Eugene is in consultation with Bishop Marcus about dates for Confirmation for Y6. They are looking at organising the Sacrament to take place in July - this will be a lovely way to end Y6. Therefore the Catechists are proposing to start the preparation classes at the end of May.
Reminder as per the last newsletter we finish for Easter on Friday 1st April - 1.15pm Rec and KS1 and 1.30pm KS2. We return to school on Tuesday 19th April.
