Tuesday 5.1.21 - Lockdown Update5 January 2021 (by Claire Grady (c.grady)) |
Good afternoon everyone,
We are thinking of you all today and the terrible situation we all now find ourselves in...again! Hopefully this will be the final push towards a relatively normal life in the summer. School is extremely busy at the moment, as we get to grips with completely changing the provision from yesterday, please be patient with us - we are all trying our very best for your children.
Registering for a key/critical worker place has now finished. We have a sizable group of parents looking for a place. Please can I ask that if you are a key/critical worker, that you only use this childcare when it is essential to do so? Current research shows that young children are now thought to spread this new strain of the virus more rapidly than before and although children on the whole do not appear to become adversely poorly the outcome for our staff members, should they become infected could be fatal. We will contact those who have registered each week to discuss care for the following week if their shift patterns are variable. All those who have registered will now receive an email giving further details about the offer.
Teachers will now work from home and will be teaching online daily - this will be in different forms. This may be a live gathering for Collective Worship, pre-recorded lessons, live tutorials for small groups and links to assignments. Please log on daily to Google Classroom to ensure that your child does not miss out on their learning this half-term. Key/critical worker children will be able to log on to Google Classroom in school. Please continue your child to read daily at home and to log on to the Oxford Reading Buddy and Times Table Rockstars to keep these essential key skills ticking along. If you are unable to access online due to lack of data or device I will be contacting you before the end of next week to discuss options. We are limited into what we can currently offer, as we have not received our full allocation of promised devices. I can help with increasing data which would mean that children can join 'live' tutorials.
May I remind you that we are giving you the opportunity today, to collect another copy of your child's log in letter for Google Classroom as well as additional learning resources for your child. You can collect packs for siblings in other classes when you arrive. Please enter the main gate and wear a mask when on site. The times are as follows -
Rec Y1 Y2 - 1-1.30pm
Y3- Y4 - 1.30- 2pm
Y5-Y6 2.30 - 3pm
Take care and please tell your children that we are thinking of them and hope to see them very soon on Google Classroom.
Mrs Grady and all the Staff
